Cautions, Limitations and Restrictions
If you print a document that has an odd number of pages as a two-sided document from an application, the application may automatically insert a blank page to bring the number of pages up to an even number. When this happens, the blank page inserted by the application is counted up in the same way as a printed page.
To register the custom paper size you want to use, access the [Document Properties] dialog box from the Printers folder with Administrator privileges, and then specify the paper size in the [Custom Paper Size Settings] dialog box which is displayed by clicking the [Custom Paper Size] button in the [Page Setup] sheet.
If you are using a USB connection with the printer to print, and cancel a print job that is currently printing from your computer using the print spooler, the printer may not return to a ready state.
In this state, you can print via USB, but not via a network. In order to be able to print from a network, cancel the print job from the control panel of the printer prior to printing.
If you are using Server Core in your Windows Server operating system, you cannot use the printer driver installer. Use the installation function of the operating system to install the printer driver.
You cannot install the driver with the installer. Use the installation options of Windows.
Some print options are not available under local environment or Windows Remote Desktop environment.
If you are using a printer that supports 2-sided printing, the default setting is 2-sided printing.
If both a printer driver (or fax driver) and a USB-compliant scanner driver are not installed, a device connected by USB is recognized as new hardware, and although the following may occur, driver operations will not be affected.
Windows Vista: A dialog box appears each time you connect the device by USB.
Windows 7/8: A warning icon is displayed on the corresponding printer icon in the [Devices and Printers] folder.
The driver is still operable in these states. To avoid these phenomenons, install the USB-compliant scanner driver (WIA Network ScanGear 2 USB). For instructions on how to install the scanner driver, see the readme file provided with the driver.
When creating an overlay form file in one machine, you cannot specify another machine in the network as the place to save the new form file.
If the following problems occur when using the PCL5e printer driver, select [Raster Mode] in the [Advanced Settings] dialog box. The [Advanced Settings] dialog box is displayed by clicking the [Advanced Settings] button in the [Quality] tab.
If you have trouble printing multiple graphic objects.
If you have trouble printing using the scaling function in an application.
Certain TrueType fonts may not be printed correctly. If this occurs, you should disable the [Use Printer Fonts] setting in the [Advanced Settings] dialog box to ensure that all fonts are downloaded with the document, rather than using only those fonts that reside in the printer. The [Advanced Settings] dialog box is displayed by clicking the [Advanced Settings] button in the [Quality] sheet.
If the problem persists, you should use the PCL5e printer driver and select [Raster Mode] for [Graphics Mode], and then select [On] for [Print Text as Graphics] in the [Advanced Settings] dialog box.
Rotated text will not be printed correctly with some applications when [TrueType Mode] is set to [Download as TrueType] or [Download as Bit Image] in the [Advanced Settings] dialog box. The [Advanced Settings] dialog box is displayed by clicking the [Advanced Settings] button in the [Quality] sheet. To avoid this problem, you should use the PCL5e printer driver and select [Raster Mode] for [Graphics Mode], and then select [On] for [Print Text as Graphics] in the [Advanced Settings] dialog box.
Black-and-white pages may be counted as color pages, depending on data, application, or driver settings when you select [Auto [Color/B&W]] or [Color] for [Color Mode] in the [Basic Settings]/[Quality] sheet. If you want to print a document as a black-and-white job, select [Black and White] for [Color Mode].
When using a custom paper size for printing with PCL5e/5c driver, the print data may not be output correctly if the length of the custom paper size is greater than 1168.6 mm (46.00 inches).
If you are using this product in Japan, the following restrictions apply.
The following options may not be correctly applied when selected in the [Device Settings] sheet.
[Envelope Feeder Attachment]
When you select this option and set [Envelope Monarch/COM10/DL/CL/B5] as the page size in the [Basic Settings]/[Page Setup] sheet, although you can select [Drawer 2] as the paper source in the [Paper Source] sheet, the envelope(s) will not be correctly output at the printer as the printer does not support this combination of settings.
[External Puncher] - [2/3 Holes], [2/4 Holes [French]], [4 Holes [Swedish]]
Although you can set [Hole Punch] in the [Finishing] sheet when this option is selected, the hole punch type will not be correctly output at the printer if you select [3 Holes] or [4 Holes], as the printer does not support these settings.
When you select [Tab Paper] as the paper type to be inserted in the [Insert Sheets Settings] dialog box of the [Paper Source] sheet, and select [Drawer 2] as the paper source, the tab paper will not be correctly output at the printer as the printer does not support this setting.
If you are using the imageRUNNER ADVANCE C7065/C7055, although you can select [Hold] for [Output Method], the printer does not support this function.
Depending on the printer model you are using, when you store a secured print job in the printer, other print jobs may not print. If this happens, output the secured print job. If you still cannot print the other print jobs, reprint them from the computer.
